Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline including celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their reputation as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the group access areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Strategists parties.
Fans can expect finding out which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
